Saturday I want to do one of 2 things- either go see a movie or go see Aquanett They're playing at All-Stars in Manchester tomorrow night and I have been wanting see them for a while now. They're an awesome 80's cover band- they do Journey, Bon Jovi, Poison, anything you can think of and they're supposed to be sick!

If nobody seems into it then I'll be happy seeing a movie- either Forgetting Sarah Marshall or Baby Mama. I'd also like to see IronMan but I want to see that with my Dad and he can't go tomorrow. ummmm, I just realized that I haven't told anybody about wanting to go see a movie yet either. So I guess I don't really have set plans but I am definitely going to make one of those things happen.
So I hope this weekend will be awesome because the weather totally sucks balls right now so I need something to keep my spirits up! Last week was so gorgeous and now it's a major crap fest- cloudy, rainy, cold, blech.
But on another note- today at work was really intense!! I work in a high school and there was a 2-day assembly on drunk driving yesterday and today. Some of the students put together a video that showed some kids getting drunk, driving around and then hitting another car and killing one of the passengers. Everything about it was sooo realistic. And then they asked some of the students to share their thoughts on the experience and that was really powerful. One of the girls started crying during her speech and the whole audience lost it. Everybody around me was crying including myself. I did not expect that. When I was in high school we did not have this program so I didn't know what it was going to be like. They even had a casket and a hearse parked outside the school!
I think it really impacted a lot of the students and will hopefully cause them to make good decisions and not drink and drive. They also placed emphasis on careless driving- like speeding or talking on your cell phone, or texting while driving, which are all also very stupid things to do- even though I have done all three of those things before. But even though the program was really well done and I think a lot of students got the message- there were still plenty of others who were like "this is lame", "give me a break" (to the people crying). But some of that might just be talk to be cool or maybe they really just don't care. But overall I think it was successful because it made at least some students stop and think about the consequences of their actions.
